Don't click on the Title

Troy R. Bennett is a photographer and a videographer with The Bangor Daily News. He was joined by The Bangor Daily News reporter, Chris Cousins on Monday to take a look at the Narcissus in the Townhouse Restoration Shop at Seashore Trolley Museum in Kennebunkport, Maine. They also spoke with some of the volunteers and staff members Who were working on the restoration. Little did I know that Troy would put together an awesome ode to the Portland-Lewiston Interurban music video...inspired by a poem written for and delivered at a PLI employees' reunion in 1939 :) Enjoy the video. Thank you, Troy..it is awesome :)
The Narcissus project inspires people - come share the experience by attending the Teddy Roosevelt Days event at Seashore Trolley Museum on Saturday and Sunday, August 1 and 2.

Being more than a century old, the stately, "Elegant Ride," Narcissus, is a gem.  This shimmering precious stone of Maine transportation history is brilliantly resplendent as it emanates so many elements of history, including; time, places, people, and events, that it was coupled to, that when just a smattering of its seemingly innumerable stories are shared, the contents captivates, fascinates, then generates, interest to learn more 🙋. NRHS Awards $2,000 to the Narcissus Project

Preliminary work has begun for the roof and for the clerestory area  :) Over the
next 30 days we will see quite a transformation!

I am so happy to report that The National Railway Historical Society has awarded Narcissus a
$2,000 Heritage Preservation Grant for restoration work on the roof and windows!

The assessment of the roof and clerestory area was done on June 29. Based on this assessment an initial 30-day plan was developed with an eye toward the scope of work to be done over the next 3 months and also looking at various work that can be completed over the late fall and winter. Very exciting :)
